The definition of a luxury home changes from person to person and family to family. For some, luxury means zero compromises when it comes to finishes, fixtures, appliances and furnishings. For others, space to expand and grow is the ultimate luxury. And for some – a luxury home design is one where you have the luxury of not worrying about a thing – knowing that every detail is being taken care of by your architect and chosen builder. Whatever luxury home design means to you – Terren has a design that includes everything you would ever expect in an Architecturally designed luxury home.
We see the benefits of investing in a luxury home design as three foldthreefold;
Financial – designing and building an architect-designed luxury home has been shown to maximise your return on investment when it comes to the value of your property. Buyers want to know that they are purchasing an architectural design that has both curb and market appeal. Our limited-edition designs also ensure that you will not see the same design built around the corner from your property.
Lifestyle – When you custom design and build a home that considers takes into account the lifestyle you want to lead, without compromise, you are more likely to enjoy living and entertaining in the space you have created.
Experience – Every facet of the Terren Product has been designed to provide our clients with a better design, build and luxury living experience. We know that whilst you might expect every detail to be thoughtfully considered in a luxury home, you might not have the time to worry about doing so. Additionally, having a verified build price from the outset helps create an experience where you are not stressing about every dollar along the way. Being able to tender your luxury home design to the builders of your choice also adds to the experience of creating a home that will be built at a market rate by the builder you choose to trust.

How long does it take to build a luxury home?
Typically, luxury homes take 1- 2 years to design and 1 – 2 years to build. With Terren, this time is considerably shorter. All of our luxury home designs have been pre-designed in extensive detail, ready to be adjusted to your land and specifications. This means you could be ready to build shortly after settlement cutting your total design and build time in half.
How much does it cost to build a luxury home?
Luxury homes could cost anywhere from $800,000 to build. Typically, for a truly luxury home design, you will be spending around a million dollars to build a 4 bedroom family home around 400 square meters. Obviously, what luxury means to one can differ vastly from what it means to another. Still, if your definition of luxury is architectural inclusions with soaring ceilings, natural light and beautiful bespoke details, then roughly 1 million dollars would build a luxury home in Australia right now.
What are the steps involved in getting ready to build a luxury home?
Step one: acquire the land to build on.
Step two: have that land surveyed and a soil report performed to determine the geotechnical details of your property.
Step three: Hire an architect to design your definition of a luxury home (that’s where we come in)
Step four: Hire an engineer to provide structural drawings for your home design and have a thermal assessment performed (once again, Terren has you covered.)
Step five: Hire a building surveyor to assess your drawings and supply a building permit once you have hired a builder.
Step Six: Tender your plans to achieve a market rate or enter into negotiations with the builder of your choice.
Step seven: Hire a builder and sign a fixed-price contract with them.
Step eight: Begin building!
